Do I Look Like A Lion Snack?!
I Peter 5:8 - "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." Lately, I've had a couple of days when I could almost feel the breath of a lion steaming on the back of my neck. I've been discouraged, doubt-filled, afraid, insecure - and none of those things are from my good Father. It seems for me that when I'm weak and tired, I feel that breath more heavily. And I KNOW what will protect me - "the belt of truth buckled around (my) waist." So my plan over the next couple or few days is to construct a belt - to dig into the Word and make a list of some lion-conquering Scriptures to have handy when I feel that enemy closing in. I'll be posting a few of those and the thoughts and ideas they inspire. And if you have some to share, I'd love to hear from you! For now, just in case you're in that weak and tired phase, let me comfort you with a Scripture I'm wrapping myself in a lot these days. Zephaniah 3:17 - "The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." More to come soon...
