Just a Little Tuesday Prayer Goin' On...
Lord, You are the right and perfect Way. You guide my steps, protect me from darkness, and pour into my mind Your knowledge and wisdom. In Your mercy and goodness, You fill me -- with Your fruits and with every good gift -- so that I might give generously from Your endless supply. Your good works in my life and in lives around me are a witness to Your constancy, building a strong foundation of trust in this prone-to-wander heart. You take the tangled strands of my anxieties, unravel my mess, and create beauty beyond what I could ever imagine. You go before me to prepare the way and yet still walk beside me, gently instructing and leading me in the now. My mind can't comprehend You, but my soul is certain of Your love.
For today, Lord, help me to purpose to live Proverbs 14:22b: "...Those who devise good meet steadfast love and faithfulness." Keep me from being distracted by the future. Keep my eyes on You, on the gift of today, and on the mission of love. Remind me of Your past faithfulness so that my trust in You is sure and confident.
Thank You for holding my face in Your hands and looking into my eyes and speaking truth; for confirming Your good plans in Your good time; for reassuring me of Your care in the big AND little things; for taking on all the stuff that weighs me down; and for giving me Your joy. Humbled, thankful, and praying in the sweet Name of Jesus, amen.
